Research is one of the basic pillars of Teknon Medical Center. All the research carried out in our center is approved by the Clinical Research Ethics Committee (CEIC), which meets every month or once every fortnight.
At the Rheumatology Department we have an active line of research in the field of knee osteoarthritis with which we seek to improve and innovate in the treatments of those diseases, which, like osteoarthritis, require new drugs and techniques, and make available of our patients early access to the most innovative treatments.
There are several investigational approaches being studied for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis.
There are several pharmacological targets in knee osteoarthritis that currently are being investigated for the development of new drugs.
Pharmacological development for knee osteoarthritis typically involves the discovery and development of drugs that can slow down disease progression, relieve pain, and improve joint function.
In order to determine the effect of QUC398 on pain and cartilage preservation in participants with symptomatic knee osteoarthritis. We currently have a randomized, two-arm, placebo-controlled, participant, investigator and sponsor-blinded, proof-of-concept study investigating the efficacy, safety and tolerability of QUC398 in patients with symptomatic knee osteoarthritis.
